About Us

The Social Policy Unit is a part of the Cabinet and Policy Division, within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. We are a small unit consisting of staff that come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our goal is to ensure the best possible outcomes for the community through the activity of relevant Government agencies. This is facilitated through:

• the development, implementation, and evaluation of social policy in the State
• monitoring and analysis of social policy initiatives and their impact
• co-ordination of Government initiatives
• provision of policy advice to the Premier and his Cabinet
